Samples Tab — Quick Reference Card

DataPublisher for Word · May 2026

What the Samples Tab Does

The Samples Tab is a pre-built library of ready-to-run projects. Each sample includes:
- A CSV data file with realistic sample records
- A Word template with placeholders already in place
- A configured merge action ready to run

One click copies everything to your account. Then switch to Actions → Merge and click Run. See it working in under 5 minutes with zero setup.

Filter Categories

Category What's In It
All Every available sample
Quick Start Fastest to run — ideal for first-time users
Industry Vertical-specific documents (real estate, education, etc.)
Master-Detail Documents with parent + line-item relationships
Advanced Complex templates using conditionals, loops, images

Using a Sample

  1. Browse the sample cards (filter by category if needed)
  2. Click a card to open the Preview modal — read what the sample produces
  3. Click Use This Sample — data, template, and action are copied to your account
  4. Switch to Actions → Merge — your data file and template are pre-selected
  5. Click Run Action — watch it generate

My Samples Section

Once you've copied one or more samples, a My Samples panel appears at the top of the tab listing what you've already copied. This lets you quickly re-run or reference samples without scrolling through the full library.
