The Home Tab is the first thing you see when you open DataPublisher for Word. It's designed to be immediately useful whether you're a brand new visitor or a returning subscriber.
When you first open the add-in, the Home Tab shows two things side by side:
The sign-in form is at the top. You can sign in with an existing account, create a new one (free, no credit card required), or reset a forgotten password — all without leaving Word.
The product overview below it explains what DataPublisher for Word does and how to get started in 3 minutes. This section is always visible — you don't need to be signed in to read it.
If you've forgotten your password:
1. Click Forgot your password?
2. Enter your account email address
3. A 6-digit code is sent to that address (expires in 1 hour)
4. Enter the code and choose a new password
5. Sign in normally
Once authenticated, the Home Tab becomes your account management hub. Three sections appear:
Your email address is displayed with a Sign Out button. This confirms which account you're working in — useful when multiple people share a machine.
Two buttons handle account-level data backup:
Export All Data downloads a ZIP file containing every CSV file, Word template, image library, and configuration from your account. Keep this as a backup or use it to migrate to a new account.
Import Backup restores from a previously exported ZIP. This is a complete restore — use it when setting up a new machine or recovering from data loss.
This section shows your current billing state and — if needed — lets you subscribe or upgrade without leaving Word.
Free Trial: A progress bar shows how many days remain in your 14-day trial. All features are available during the trial.
Active Subscription: Shows your plan name, price, and next billing date. Two action buttons: Manage Subscription (update payment method, change plan) and Cancel Subscription.
Trial Expired: Prompts you to subscribe to restore access.
All plans include full access to the app. The differences are in support and consulting:
Individual ($19/mo or $190/yr) — Full app access + email support
Professional ($39/mo or $390/yr) — Full app + priority support + 1-hour onboarding call
Business ($79/mo or $790/yr) — Full app + 1 hour/month of consulting time (unused hours roll over, max 3 hours banked)
Yearly plans save 17% compared to monthly.
Payment is processed securely through PayPal Fastlane. Your payment information never touches DataPublisher's servers.
The Home Tab points you toward the fastest path to your first result:
→ Samples tab — one-click sample projects, no data upload required. Best for first-time users who want to see the app working immediately.
→ Data tab — upload your own CSV file and Word templates
→ Actions tab — run a document merge, send email campaigns, collect signatures
